Checklist of German Chalcidoidea (Hymenoptera)

Currently 1889 species of Chalcidoidea are recorded from Germany based on published information. Although for many species their occurrence in Germany needs to be verified, the checklist will probably grow as many more species are expected to occur in Germany. It is estimate that the number of species occurring in Germany is about twice as large as currently known.

With nearly 1900 species, Chalcidoidea represent 21% of all German Hymenoptera species and about 6.5% of German insects. Considering that the Chalcidoidea is still one of the most poorly known group of insects, the number of species occurring in Germany is probably significantly higher than currently known.

The database contains more than 12500 entries of nominal taxa and over 2000 literature references. For each species the synonymic history and taxonomic literature references are given.
