I am a postdoctoral researcher with the Coleoptera (beetles) section at the Bavarian State Collection of Zoology (Zoologische Staatssammlung München, urn:lsid:biocol.org:col:34660). The ZSM is part of the Bavarian Natural History Collections, the largest union of natural history institutions in Germany.
Research interests
Taxonomy, faunistics, evolution and biogeography of water beetles (mainly Dytiscidae). Focus on Australia and Europe. Tools include traditional taxonomy and molecular phylogenetics. Aquatic insect environmental impact assessment and monitoring with focus on central Europe. Barcoding.
